Please also pray for balance in our lives with family and ministry and...life! For example, during our prayer walk in the morning yesterday, God put a couple on our hearts that we knew were having serious marital problems. I knew them from long ago but Tanja had never met the wife. After Tanja taught school that morning, she ended up spending the whole afternoon ministering to and praying with this lady. We want our daily agenda to ALWAYS be in God's hands. We might have plans to try to unpack the boxes in our home and finally feel "moved in and settled" but, as we say with Lumenations, ministry comes first. That, of course, includes the ministry to our family which God always makes a priority. Pray that we have great discernment to ONLY do what He is leading us to do and, like Jesus, stay balanced while living a sacrificial lifestyle.
First day of school!
...and Tanja's 20th year of homeschooling. Please pray for grace, guidance, strength and wisdom as we raise this family and teach the the way of the Lord.
AND...would you please pray for our children? [in the picture from L to R, Bryan, Elly, Jillian, Josie and Jalynn] Please pray for them as they learn to read, write, add, subtract, etc. Please pray that they grow to know their God better each day. Pray for protection from the strategies of the enemy to derail and destroy the perfect plan of the Lord for their lives.
ALSO, please pray for our three older children: SHELBY, who is in grad school at Harding and a grad assistant their while living with and helping care for my father and mother (who has Alzheimers); BETHANY, who is living with us while finishing out her midwifery requirements and looking into potential future work in a persecuted country in Central Asia; ROBBIE, as he works and finishes his last semester at the community college in Kansas City (and also anxiously awaiting a visa for his bride-to-be who is in Albania).
